PNG continuing to maintain service to South Taylor and Kiskatinaw area customers amidst ongoing upstream operational impacts
Pacific Northern Gas (PNG) has been informed that the upstream operational issue with impacts to PNG’s natural gas distribution system in the South Taylor and Kiskatinaw areas is expected to be resolved by mid-December.
PNG was originally informed of this upstream operational issue on October 28. Since that time, PNG has continued to maintained service to all customers by serving the areas with Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). PNG has served the Peace Region with LNG on a number of occasions. LNG is a clean and safe energy source that PNG regularly deploys on an as needed basis to ensure continuity of service to customers.
Residents may continue to see PNG crews working along Highway 97, near the South Taylor Rest Stop, until this upstream operational issue is resolved and PNG can resume regular natural gas supply.
Public and employee safety, and reliability of service, are PNG’s top priorities. Our system has an excellent reliability and safety record as a result of our commitment to system maintenance and safe practices for those working on and around our system.
Thank you to everyone assisting us with this response. We will release further information as it becomes available.
