Thank you, Tumbler Ridge!

All repairs to a PNG natural gas line, damaged last week by a contractor working 17 kilometres southeast of Tumbler Ridge, are now complete. Throughout our response, PNG’s priorities were ensuring both public safety and the continuity of gas supply to Tumbler Ridge in order to prevent any service interruptions for our customers.

Following the damage, we immediately implemented our well-practiced emergency plan. We began by ensuring the safety of the site where the damage occurred, stopping the flow of gas from the damaged pipe and completing the necessary repairs. We maintained natural gas supply to the town and all customers by using liquified natural gas that was trucked in by tanker.

Our overall response was aided by the support we received from the District of Tumbler Ridge; the community; and our contractors which included Plum Gas Solutions and Ft. St. John-based D-W Wilson Services Ltd. and Ace Instruments Ltd.

On behalf of PNG, thank you to everyone who assisted us with this response. We greatly appreciate your contributions and patience as we resolved this situation.
